Recent Shows Prt 1: Four Tet…
I was fortunate enough to have my friend OpenOptics call me up the other day and tell me about a show going on at The Echo, one of my favorite venues in LA. Four Tet was playing. If you ever have the chance to see him, do it. For reals. This show bordered on a religious experience. This is one man ROCKING a laptop like I’ve never seen. His use of complex rhythms was absolutely amazing. It’s hard to describe, he took his songs and transformed them into one long amorphous trance inducing blend of sound. His set felt like it was over in minutes when it was really at least a couple of hours long. OpenOptics and I walked out of the show dazed, happy and awed. In short you have to see Four Tet for yourself. But until you do, here’s a visual aid.
